Fun times on the 10 day trek back across the Atlantic.

The days went by MUCH faster than expected! Fun was had, exams were taken, papers were written. But most importantly, we had Sea Olympics and Halloween. (Maybe not the most important, but they were SO much fun! And that's what really counts, right? Just kidding, mom…)

Sea Olympics was a 24-hour period in which classes were cancelled and each Sea is pitted against each other. If you remember, the Seas are the portions of the hallways to which you and your Resident Director are assigned. Yellow Sea is the best sea, even if we didn't win! It was hilarious and definitely got the competitive juices flowing throughout the ship. Some parts of the competition included things that started in the days leading up to it such as volleyball, dodgeball, ping pong, and cards. There was also some parts that involved preparation like the Lip Sync and the Synchronized Swimming. Both of them were absolutely hilarious and awesome. So many put effort into what they were doing. Naturally, I was part of the Lip Sync for the Yellow Sea, and it was great! Second place isn't too shabby either.

The whole Sea Olympics began with the Lip Sync on the night before the full day event. Everyone crammed into the Union (our large lecture-size classroom) chanting various chants for their respective colors - WHEN I SAY YELL, YOU SAY OH. YELL. OH. YELL. OH. So much fun, especially when you get to lead as the Yellow Sea Representative!
The next was filled with activities like limbo, hula hopping, pull up competitions (I got one! hahaha), tug-of-war (my hands hurt for a while after that one), surprise event, and jeopardy. It all ended with each sea showing their lovely and well-choreographed synchronized swimming routine, all which were too funny. We all spent the rest of the day hanging out and enjoying and afternoon and evening without classes.

Halloween on a ship was definitely an experience! Everyone either brought something from home (I did not think that far in advance) or made something up as the day went on. During the day, Katie and I went as twins in outfits and hairdos that matched practically perfectly. To say the least, we confused A LOT of people and many got us mixed up. That night we had a HUGE dance in the Union and, once again, all the students crammed on in there ready for a good time. We danced the night away and got to hang out with all our close friends on the ship. I definitely appreciated the creativity of some people! Katie and I, on the other hand, went as cats. Not too artsy, but so much fun! We also told people we were panthers, which made it a little cooler...
